National Conference on ‘Connecting Practitioners and Researchers’ from 25-27 March 2025, at the College of Natural Resources
The National Conference on Connecting Practitioners and Researchers under the thematic areas of Climate Crisis, Natural Disaster, Environmental Sustainability, Agriculture and Food will be held at the College of Natural Resources from March 25-27, 2025. The conference is jointly organized by the Department of Academic and Research, Office of the Vice Chancellor and the Centre for Rural Development Studies, College of Natural Resources.
This event will bring together researchers from the Royal University of Bhutan, representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, farmers, scholars and intellectuals to present papers on critical and emerging issues related to the climate crisis, natural disasters, environmental sustainability, agriculture and food security. The primary goal of the conference is to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration by bringing together diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, scientists, researchers, and practitioners in the fields of environmental sustainability, agriculture and food sectors. As challenges such as climate change, urbanization and demographic shifts become increasingly complex, cross-sectoral and trans-disciplinary collaboration is more crucial than ever.
To this end, the conference will provide a valuable platform for sharing current research and insights, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices. We hope to create an inclusive and stimulating environment, encouraging active participation and engagement throughout the three-day program, and promoting fruitful discussions that can contribute to impactful solutions.
The objectives of the conference are to:
- Share and disseminate cutting-edge research findings to a diverse and trans-disciplinary audience.
- Strengthen collective capacity in developing and implementing evidence-based policies.
- Foster meaningful connections and establish a groundwork for future collaborations between researchers and practitioners.
The first two days of the conference will focus on research paper presentations, while the third day will feature a technical session focused on addressing the emerging issues, particularly in waste management.
The conference will be co-sponsored by the B-KIND Tarayana Foundation, RSPN, and Asian Food & Agriculture Cooperation Initiative.
