Madanjeet\u00a0Singh Scholarships for the Academic Year 2025 at the College of Natural Resources, Royal University of Bhutan<\/b><\/p>\n
The UNESCO\u00a0Madanjeet\u00a0Center for South Asia Forestry Studies (UMCSAFS) at<\/span> College of Natural Resources\u00a0<\/b>(CNR), Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) in Lobesa, Punakha, Bhutan, is pleased to\u00a0announce\u00a0one candidate each for Madanjeet\u00a0Singh scholarship from SAARC member countries for\u00a0two<\/span> years<\/span> Masters Programme<\/b>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>Natural Resources Management (NRM) \/ Conservation Biology (CB) <\/b>to be undertaken from July 2025 to June 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n Applicants should fulfill the following criteria for the programme:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Have completed a BSc programme awarded by a recognized University in the field of Forestry, Environment, Ecology and Life Sciences.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Have secured a minimum of\u00a0<\/span>55% in each subject<\/b>\u00a0and overall aggregate of\u00a0<\/span>60%<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Be a registered citizen of the SAARC member countries\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Be fluent in English (both written and speaking)<\/span><\/p>\n Produce English Language Proficiency Certificate from recognized\/competent institutions<\/span><\/p>\n Be below 45 years of age.<\/span><\/p>\n Candidates applying should submit the application form and Research Proposal (mandatory) along with the required documents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The scholarship will cover:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n Tuition fees<\/span><\/p>\n Economy air travel from the native country to Bhutan and back (initial and final)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Monthly stipend of\u00a0<\/span>Nu. 15000.00\u00a0<\/b>(Fifteen thousand) only<\/span><\/p>\n Book and printing allowance of <\/span>Nu. 5000.00<\/b> (five thousand) only annually<\/span><\/p>\n Initial establishment allowance of\u00a0<\/span>Nu. 20,000.00<\/b>\u00a0(Twenty Thousand – International students) only\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n One-time research grant of <\/span>Nu.70,000.00<\/b> (Seventy thousand) only shall be eligible from first year second semester only<\/span><\/p>\n In-country travel of <\/span>Nu. 500.00<\/b> per day shall be eligible while on organized study travel and 50% if it exceeds a month)<\/span><\/p>\n Application procedures and Admission deadlines<\/b><\/p>\n Applications shall be submitted to South Asia Foundation (SAF) country offices of each country in the SAARC region. Applications shall not be accepted directly from the candidates<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0The SAF office of each country shall select<\/span> one <\/b>candidate <\/span>for M.Sc.<\/b> based on the eligibility criteria mentioned herein<\/span><\/p>\n The name of the selected candidate from each SAARC country with the relevant documents should be submitted to the office of the\u00a0Focal Person,<\/span> College of Natural Resources,<\/b> Royal University of Bhutan Lobesa, Punakha, Bhutan by<\/span> February 5th, 2025 <\/b>through SAF offices in respective country for further scrutiny and acceptance into scholarship program<\/span><\/p>\n The final assessment of the selected candidate shall be done jointly by a team of committee from the College of Natural Resources on <\/span>24 February 2024<\/b>. There will be a online interview with the candidates for the final selection.<\/span><\/p>\n Based on the final assessment, the candidates may or may not be accepted into the program if respective SAF office failed to follow the set eligibility criteria.<\/span><\/p>\n The CNR reserves the right of acceptance or rejection of candidates nominated by SAARC countries into the programme.<\/span><\/p>\n The letter of acceptance or rejection into the scholarship program will be sent to respective SAF office for further conveyance to the individual candidate latest by\u00a0<\/span>3<\/b>rd<\/b> March , 2025\u00a0<\/b>via e-mail or through telephone calls.<\/span><\/p>\n All travel documents of the selected student should reach UMCSAFS office not later than\u00a0<\/span>15<\/b>th<\/b> March, 2025\u00a0<\/b>to process for travel and other necessary arrangements.
