2008<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><p><strong><b>Experience:<\/b><\/strong><\/p><p>\u00a0I have provided leadership at the national level for animal reproduction, biotechnology\/semen processing, field level artificial insemination, training of Community Artificial Insemination Technicians (CAIT) and reproductive health management. I also had been the adjunct lecturer on animal breeding, reproduction at CNR for the first 3 batches of BSc Animal Science. After my superannuation from the department of Livestock, MOAF,I joined CNR as lecturer on fixed term.<\/p><p>My carrier in civil service started in 1\/1\/1987 at National AI Programme, Wangchutaba where I have started National AI program from scratch, equipped and established basic semen processing laboratory and started processing of semen. This initiative has helped in implementation of Artificial Insemination Program in the country in a planned manner.<\/p><p>In 1990s AI in Yaks have been successfully tried on pilot scale with yak frozen semen that inject fresh blood to Bhutanese yak population.<\/p><p>In1992, I with my colleagues have spearheaded and established Frozen Semen processing Laboratory at Wangchutaba.<\/p><p>By 1995 Mithun semen was successfully processed by National AI Program of Bhutan and preserved. Mithun being a forest dweller and shy animals it had been a challenge elsewhere to collect and preserve semen. Several methods were tried including training of bulls at the young age and taming them for change in animal behavior. Mithun frozen semen officially released by Royal Government of Bhutan and it made Bhutan proud for being able to process Mithun semen for the for the first time in the world<\/p><p>By 2009 Contract Heifer and bull production programme (CHBPP) was initiated.
