The proposed programmes are designed to develop a cadre of professionals with skills, knowledge and competencies in applied science pertinent to all aspects of livestock farming and natural resources management. The four year programme is designed with double exit and double entry possibilities. The first two years of the programme is skill based, and prepares students to exit with a two year Diploma certificate. On completion of the first two years, those students capable of and wishing to pursue Bachelor programme will continue further for two more years and exit with Bachelor degree. Diploma graduates who have worked and gathered at least two years of field experience (in-service) and wishing to enhance their profession career have the possibility to enter at the beginning of year 3 to obtain a Bachelor degree.<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/div>\n\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main aim of the Diploma and BSc in Animal Science is to contribute to the socioeconomic development by creating a larger critical mass of qualified professionals in the field of livestock and to advance the country&#8217;s intellectual and academic environment. Graduates are equipped with knowledge and skills to enhance livestock production, food security, genetic resources conservation, and animal health science programmes that contribute to the sustainable socioeconomic development of a nation.<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Curriculum Structure<\/strong><\/div>\n\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The proposed four year BSc programme consists of 480 credits with 36 modules including field attachment and a research project in the 4th year.
