A team of Professors from Maejo University and Chiang Mai University in Thailand, led by the Dean, Faculty of Animal Science and Technology of Maejo University visited the College of Natural Resources on the 8th October 2014. The Professors met with the Senior Management Team of the College and discussed on possible areas of collaboration between the College and the two universities in Thailand
In the afternoon, the professor Yanin Opatpatanikat and Professor gave seminar talks on Beef Production in Thailand and Native Chicken production in Thailand to the faculties and students of Animal Science Department. Professor Avorn Opatpatanikat of Chiang Mai University provided an insight on Community-based Research in Thailand to the students of B.Sc. 2nd Year Sustainable Development and students of 1st Year M.Sc. in Development Practice. The Professors were in the country at the invitation of the Department of Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests.

Mr. Tashi, the 3rd cohort B.Sc. Forestry Graduate of July 2014 bagged the 1st prize cash of Nu. 7500 and the certificate award in poster competition of Bhutan Ecological Society’s 2nd Annual Research Symposium. 
He showcased his Dissertation on “An Assessment of Carbon Sequestration Potentials of Pinus wallichiana using Randomized Branch Sampling” in Bumthang Dzongkhag. Tashi was a dutiful and sincere student while pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in the College, and stood 2nd in the academic course work.  Currently, he is posted in the Sarpang Dzongkhag Forestry Sector as the Sr. Ranger. The College wishes him further success and fulfillment in his career.
