CNR, Lobesa, 17 March 2016: A team of five senior faculties from Chiang Mai University, Thailand, visited the college on 17 March 2016. The team shared their background of visits, and the courses in offer at Chiang Mai University. The team also shared various opportunities for higher studies in the field of highland agricultural systems and natural resources management.
The Director General welcomed the Guests from Chiang Mai University and briefed them on the background of the College, about the programmes offered by the College, and highlighted various projects in hand. 
The teams discussed on the possibility of collaboration in the fields of organic agriculture, joint research, and exchange programmes for faculties in highland agriculture. To kick start collaboration, the team from both sides agreed to follow up with the Smart Farmer Project. The teams from both the sides will exchange letter of interests to build up for a long lasting collaboration
The 7th Sector Advisory Committee meeting between the College of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MOAF) was convened on 15 March 2016 at Thimphu. The meeting, chaired by Dasho Tenzin Dendup, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, discussed various agenda on sharing resources and carrying out joint research works. The meeting agreed to develop and sign a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests and the Royal University of Bhutan to foster close collaboration.
An important event of the meeting was signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Science and Development Committee between the Department of Livestock, MOAF and College of Natural Resources, RUB. The MoU was signed in presence of His Excellency, Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji, Minister for Agriculture and Forests. While gracing the signing, Lyonpo reminded and underlined the importance of implementing the provisions of the MoU. The Science and Development Committee will be a technical working committee that will leverage implementation of decisions taken at the policy level and enable intellectual and resource sharing. 
The Sector Advisory Committee is a policy advisory committee to CNR and is conducted biannually.
