CNR, Lobesa May 20, 2016: The meeting started with reviewing of the 19th College Academic Meeting (CAC) minutes by the Director General (Dr. Phub Dorji) Chair of CAC which was conducted on March 24, 2016. CAC is the highest committee in the college pertaining to academic matters, and as academicians it is important for the entire faculty and all the students to keep abreast with the discussions and decisions that come to light. 
The important agenda discussed for the 20th CAC were for the nomination of participants for summer school programme (July 23 – August 7, 2016); Introduction of Entrepreneurship Certificate course Programme; Revision of CNR Undergraduate Dissertation Guideline; Appointment of External Examination and a few others.
CNR, Lobesa May 16: A 23rd Diploma Forestry trainees from College Natural Resources returns the college after active participation in training the Community Forest Management Group Members in resources assessment and data collection from assigned CF area to formulate Community Forest Management Planning for new Community Forest in Barshong gewog under Tsirang Dzongkhag. This was coordinated by Mr. Kinley Dorji, the gewog Extension Sr. Ranger. He was accompanied by two lecturers from College of Natural Resources; Mr. Yeshey Khando and Mr. Jambay from Forestry Department and three Extension Sr. Rangers; Mr.Sangay, from Mendrelgang Gewog, Mr. Birkha Bdr. Mongar from Tsirangtoe and Mr. Dorji Rinchen from Goserling Gewog.
The light was seen at the end of tunnel by completing the reliable Community Forest Management Plan and By Laws for the rural benefits and sustainable forest management at the very grass root level. Chunyekhang Gongphel Community Forest is expected to benefit 40 households of the remotest village of the Barshong Gewog in Tsirang.
The program started on May 9, 2016 to May 14, 2016. The Gup of Barshong Gewog Mr. Santalal Powdrel on behalf of his people was indeed grateful to the College of Natural Resources for providing technically talented batch from 23rd Diploma Forestry who will be graduating by this June. On the final day all the participants celebrated memorial dinner with Tashi Lekmoen dedicated to Mr. Phento Tshering who was selected as the Director for Department of Forest & Park Services, Ministry of Agriculture & Forests.
CNR, Lobesa May 9: A workshop based on “DATA ANALYSIS “using SPSS was conducted from 6-9 May, 2016 in CNR. It was funded by OVC, RUB. Mr.Changa Dorji, DRER (OVC), Dr. DB Gurung, DRIL (CNR) and Dr.Om Katel (CNR) were the resource persons for the workshop. 
SPSS statistics (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is a software package used for statistical analysis. The  four day workshop included step-by-step approach for data analysis;  getting basics on using SPPS software, preparing , screening, cleaning and transforming the data, preliminary and descriptive analyses of the data, exploring relationship between contingency tables, correlation and partial correlation ,comparing  T-test , one-way ANOVA ,two-way ANOVA  and  also programming in SPSS using syntax .This in-house capacity building workshop was essentially conducted to train faculties and researchers, so as to encourage high quality researchers.
