14 July 2010: The June-July CNR online poll showed that animal husbandry sector has the best scope for developing business entreprenuership in the future as compared to forestry and agriculture. On the office timing for CNR-non teaching staff, the result showed overwhelming agreement that the non-teaching staff office timing should be from 8.30 AM to 4.30 PM.
The two questions polled during this period were on (i) the sector that has the best scope for developing business entrepreneurship in the future and whether (ii) the office timing for the CNR non-teaching staff should be from 8.30AM to 4.30PM. 207 hits were observed for the first question and 141 hits for the second question.
More than 60% of the respondents voted animal husbandry as having the best scope for developing business entrepreneurship in the future. Although the forestry sector is the most sought after course for the trainees given its future scope in terms of opportunities, it was found to be having the least scope for developing business entrepreneurship in the future. Agriculture sector scored only slightly over 26% rating. This understanding should be shared with the potential students of CNR during occasions like the Annual Career Fair in Thimphu to enable them to make appropriate decisions.
There is an unarguably overwhelming agreement that the office timing for non-teaching staff of CNR should be from 8.30AM to 4.30PM. More than 79% of the respondents agreed on this timing against slightly over 20% of disagree ratings. Thus, it can be recommended that the CNR management consider this finding as the basis for deciding to schedule its office timing for the non-teaching staff in the future.
