CNR July 2 - In a simple graduation ceremony held here earlier today, 81 diploma graduates of the college were awarded provisional graduation certificates.
Amongst the 81 diplomas, 26 were from Agriculture Sector and 30 from Animal Husbandry. The remaining 25 were from Forestry Sector. The three different sectors’ position holders were also awarded separate prizes during the graduation ceremony. Passang Wangmo, Deki Tshomo and Damanti Kumari Sunwar stood first, second and third respectively in Agriculture Sector while Nanda Ghalley, Denka and Anup Sharma were the first, second and third respectively, in Animal Husbandry Sector. In Forestry Sector, first, second and third position holders were Phub Dorji, Sonam Phuntsho and Yonten Jamtsho respectively. During the ceremony, the college councilor Dorji Leydra and the Best Diploma Graduate Yeshi Phuntsho were also awarded cash prizes. In his address to the graduates, the director of the college, Dorji Wangchuk reminded the graduates that the task ahead may not always be easy, unless they embrace shift in thinking. He advised them to adopt people-centered approach in delivering their services. He expressed his confidence that the graduates will bring the college greater joy and pride through their meaningful contribution to the RNR sector. The graduates were the 17th Batch diplomas who underwent a two-year diploma program at the college. The graduates will now seek employment with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests. The certificates and prizes were given away by the college’s director in presence of the Dean of Academic Affairs and the college staff.
