The validation of the up-gradation programme was done from 28th to 30th April 2009, at the CNR campus. After three days of rigorous and hectic activities of going through the curriculum, the resources on the campus and the manpower requirement for the programme, the panels for the validation for three programmes Viz. B.Sc in Agriculture Science, B. Sc in Animal Science and B. Sc Forestry Science felt that CNR is currently not ready to take off.
The validation teams have recommended some requirements to be met by 1st Sept 2009, most importantly the recruitment of expatriate who are required to deliver the lesson from the 1st semester have to be done before the programmme commences. Other bottleneck identified was the laboratory facilities that need to be developed prior to commencement of the programme.
The social aspect of the participants were taken into account that the participant will have to make arrangement for the family members to stay while husband/wife joined CNR on two year study leave as the Govt. quarter may have to be vacated for the replacing Extension Agent during the study. On the other hand if both husband and wife happened to be selected, arrangement will have to be made at Lobesa School for their children to be enrolled and also look for the accommodation. This is possible during the winter vacation and panel felt this social aspect has to be given due consideration as well.
Considering all these the validation panels suggested to postpone the programme until February 2010, whereby CNR will have to fulfill the recommendations, recruit expatriate and install the basic laboratory facilities in the absence of full fledged laboratory.
CNR has therefore postponed the up-gradation programme till Feb 2010, as suggested by the panel. In the mean time CNR will prepare to fulfill the recommendations of panels and prepare to start the programme by Feb 2010.
