Youth Environmental Education Awareness in Community

Monday, March 12, 2018: An enthusiastic ECS (B.Sc Environment and Climate Studies) final year students took an initiative to advocate young minds about issues on environment and climate change in today's technological world on March 10, 2018. A total of 54 students and teachers from three schools namely Ugyen Academy, Bajo Higher Secondary school and Dashiding Higher Secondary School attended the program.

The program began with the arrival of President, CNR around 9:15 AM. Starting from a warm welcoming speech, the session continued with impressive presentations by students of ECS final year and few lecturers of the college. The program also included interactive sessions between the presenters and students to understand the young mind's concern about the environment and climate change. The sessions covered topics on Bhutan's Environment State, Climate change, GLOF, white-bellied heron, forest fire and waste management.

The program ended successfully with awarding of certificates to participants. They pledged to spread their learnings to advocate people in their own community. Such programs and initiative by ECS final year students are highly appreciated!
