Training on Tree Logging Techniques and Silvicultural Practices for Sustainable Forest Management

December 22, 2017: A basic training on Tree Logging Techniques and Silvicultural Practices for Sustainable Forest Management under the European Union Technical Cooperation Programme (EU TCP) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests are being conducted at the College of Natural Resources (CNR), Lobesa, Punakha. The five days training completes today.
 
The training broadly covers silvicultural Practices for sustainable forest management, establishment and operation of forest nursery, practical session at modern forest nursery for production of quality seedlings, further tree logging techniques for sustainable forest management, cable crane corridor survey in forest logging units. A total of 16 participants from the Department of Forest and Park Services (DoFPS) are attending the training. Two resource persons viz., Mr. Yeshey Khandu and Mr. Yonten Dorji, Faculty of Forestry Department are facilitating the training. The training is organized by CNR with support from EU TCP project of MoAF.
